Question:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had never read any of your books before.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This last Christmas\u00a0I bought for myself your book \u201cLife After Death\u201d but for one reason or another,\u00a0I kept putting off reading it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, my husband was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and given less than six months. (I know it will take less time.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While in the hospital, I started reading your book and found it was exactly\u00a0what I already knew and believed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This was very comforting. I also believe I \u201cknew\u201d this was going to happen to my husband which is why I picked up the book.<\/span><\/p>\n

My husband is an extraordinary spirit and I am excited for this new adventure he is embarking upon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0am dreaming of people we know who have already passed letting me know he will be fine and they are so happy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0am allowing myself to be reassured.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything seems to be okay and in place but I will miss him and I cry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know this is grief at what I will lose, but isn\u2019t love wanting\u00a0everything for another person and what could\u00a0be more than\u00a0truly \u201ceverything\u201d?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He has set the bar very high and I do not know if I will be able to find another to connect with in this lifetime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know I will never be lonely because of what we have had and what I have come to understand in this lifetime.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How long will my grief be after he passes?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know the answer is \u201cas long as I want it to be.\u201d But what process in the mind should take place to be able to release this grief?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As stated earlier, my spirit is excited for his journey, it is my mind that grieves.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

My Response:<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is rare to see such courage and love in action as yours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You have my sincere love and admiration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m glad that the book was able to provide some confirmation of what you already knew.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is the most any writer can aspire to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your husband is most fortunate to have you as a guiding and reassuring light for him on his journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding your question about the mind and grief, remind yourself that what is imperishable and real never dies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The body is temporary and changeable, and its death is inevitable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The more you identify with and relate to others on the soul level, the pain of separation will be less.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you enjoy reading Vedic scripture, it is often recommended to read the Bhagavad Gita to ease the process of grief.<\/span><\/p>\n
