People with narcissistic personality styles and NPD exhibit on a spectrum, and Psychologists have identified as many as 15 different types, including somatic and cerebral. But let\u2019s look at the four most common kinds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  1. Overt \/ Grandiose Narcissists:<\/strong> These are the self-important<\/a>, braggadocious folks. They typically come across as charming in the early days, but they\u2019re actually manipulative. Moreover, overt narcissists have little to no empathy for other individuals, but they\u2019re big on \u201cforgiving themselves.\u201d<\/li>\n
  2. Covert \/ Vulnerable Narcissists: This type of narcissist is hyper-sensitive and easily offended<\/a>. For example, you may say, \u201cYou always find the best sales!\u201d Upon hearing that, they\u2019ll insist you\u2019re calling them poor. Vulnerable narcissists are a confusing mix of arrogant and insecure. They expect people \u2014 even strangers \u2014 to recognize their \u201cbrilliance\u201d and want to \u201chelp\u201d them even when they\u2019ve done nothing to deserve it. Covert narcissists are almost always passive-aggressive.<\/li>\n
  3. Malignant Narcissists:<\/strong> The most dangerous type of narcissist, people who fall into the malignant category can be sadistic, anti-social, and some are even sociopathic. They\u2019re highly manipulative<\/a> and have zero concern for their fellow man. To put it in perspective, many serial killers are malignant narcissists.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. Antagonistic Narcissists:<\/strong> Antagonistic narcissism is similar to grandiose narcissism, but they\u2019re hyper-focused on competition and winning at all costs. Antagonistic types are calculating, arrogant, argumentative, and have a low threshold for forgiveness and trust.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
