While blogging <\/span>can<\/i> be automated (eventually), you shouldn\u2019t expect income to be
\npassive from the get-go.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>You\u2019ll have to
\nwork at it, especially when you are launching your blog and building a platform
\nthat you want to be recognized in your market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nWhen I first started blogging I was spending 30-50 hours a month creating
\ncontent, converting visitors into email subscribers, and selling products and
\nservices (none of which I created myself \u2013 I focused entirely on affiliate
\nmarketing. More on that later).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While I eventually outsourced most of my
\ncontent to skilled writers, I still spend time evaluating advertising options,
\nreviewing products that I can promote, building my mailing list and creating ad
\ncampaigns to boost traffic and keep my blogs in the forefront.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While you can delegate many tasks to a team, such as content creation and even
\nmarketing, you will want to be directly involved in the initial building phase<\/b>.\u00a0 This
\nis your brand, after all. You need to make sure every piece of content has your
\nvoice, carries your message and represents your business in the best possible
\nway.<\/p>\n

No one will ever be as careful and
\nprofessional with building your blog as you will be, right? So, dig your heels
\nin and commit to spending the first few months building your blog from the
\nground floor up. Then, and only then, should you begin to create a team that
\nwill help you manage your blog and eventually, expand into other avenues with
\nother niche-based blogs (if you choose to do that). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Again, in no way is blogging a hands-free method of making money during the INITIA<\/u>L
\nstages. You must be prepared to put in some time and effort if you truly want
\nto succeed.<\/p>\n

But the good news?\u00a0 Your hard work will<\/b> pay off.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While there are countless reports and
\narticles that overcomplicated the process of making money with blogging, here\u2019s
\na basic overview of how it\u2019s done:
<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1: Create a blog and register a memorable
\ndomain. Avoid remotely hosted options. You need to be in full control of your
\nwebsite so you can take advantage of all the different revenue options with no
\nlimitations (or other people\u2019s advertisements).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2: Write (or outsource) killer content that
\nwill generate traffic and drive visitors in. This content needs to be extremely
\nhigh-quality, targeted and informative. All meat, no veggies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3:\u00a0
\nConvert your visitors into email subscribers so you can build your list.
\nA newsletter is key<\/u><\/b> in
\nbuilding a successful blog online. Scratch
\nthat<\/i>; a newsletter is essential<\/u><\/b>
\nto be successful in nearly ANY<\/b>
\nmarket online. You will never make as much money without one.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4: Communicate with those subscribers
\nregularly so your lists don\u2019t run cold. Build rapport and trust.\u00a0 Nurture relationships with your market.\u00a0 This is where you can build a recognized
\nbrand as an authority in your market and set yourself apart from the competition
\n(especially those bloggers who aren\u2019t doing this!).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5:\u00a0
\nSell products and services to your audience via your blog and through
\nyour newly cultivated newsletter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sounds easy enough, right? It is. But it
\nwill take time. Let\u2019s dig into each of these steps a bit deeper so you better
\nunderstand how it works.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

CREATING YOUR BLOG<\/span><\/u><\/b>
This report is focused on how to make money with your blog, so I won\u2019t go into detail
\nabout building the platform. Just know that you should always choose a
\nmemorable domain that is targeted to your market and that you set up a
\nprofessional hosting account that houses your blog.\u00a0 Don\u2019t use a free host or a remotely hosted
\noption like Blogger.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

CREATING CONTENT FOR YOUR BLOG<\/u><\/b>
The type of content you create will depend on your target audience, but every
\npiece of content should always be informative and the juiciest, most relevant
\ntopic you can come up with.<\/p>\n


\nYour content will be what drives in traffic and keeps visitors returning to
\nyour blog. It needs to establish your blog as an informative source of content
\nin your market so make sure you spend extra time crafting compelling content
\n(or outsource to experienced writers who know your market inside and out).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Insider Tip<\/span><\/u><\/b>: An easy way to
\nprovide extra value on your website is by using a plugin like www.PostGopher.com<\/a> that will turn your
\narticle content into PDF files that your visitors can save to their computers.
\nThis lets them read it at a later time, keeping their attention and increasing
\nyour chances that they will digest your content.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

BUILD AND CONVERT
\nCUSTOMERS<\/span><\/u><\/b>
You need to always be working towards building your list.\u00a0 This is a process you can set up on autopilot
\nby using on-site opt in forms that capture visitor\u2019s information and add them
\nto your mailing list.\u00a0 Plugins like www.OptinMonster.com<\/a> make it easy to add
\nvisitor\u2019s to your mailing lists.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Offer an incentive to those who join your
\nlists such as providing them with a special report not available anywhere else
\non your blog, or special offers and discounts on products and services.\u00a0 Always over-deliver, and start off easy.
\nDon\u2019t inundate your subscribers with paid offers right away \u2013 build rapport
\nwith them first and let them know you are looking out for their best interests.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then, set up autoresponder campaigns that
\nwill broadcast different valuable offers and freebies to your subscribers over
\ntime. I personally set up an introduction\/welcome email to go out to my
\nsubscribers as soon as they join my list.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then, 2-3 days later, I have another
\nautomated email go out that offers a free special report on my niche. Then, a
\nweek later, I begin to condition them to open my emails because they know
\nthey\u2019ll receive value by doing so. Another free offer, a special discount code
\nor a special infographic based on what my visitors are most interested in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nIt\u2019s not until 7-12 days later before I begin to actively sell, and I do so as
\npassively as possible. Rather than bold, in-your-face offers, I work WITH them
\nby providing valuable resources or tools that I believe will help them or
\nimprove their lives in some way.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When subscribers feel that you are a friend
\nwho is looking out for them, rather than a marketer whose only interest is in
\nmaking money, they will respond accordingly.\u00a0
\nSo, don\u2019t be a pushy email marketer \u2013 be a professional blogger with a
\npulse on your market and one who is willing to go the distance for your
\nvisitor\u2019s (and potential customers). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Earn their trust and respect.<\/b><\/p>\n

And finally, sell products and services
\nlike no one\u2019s business!\u00a0 This is when
\nyou\u2019ll start to make money with your blog and as you do, you\u2019ll see what your
\nvisitors are responding to so you can fine-tune your system and begin to tailor
\nboth your email campaigns and the content on your blog, around what they are
\nmost interested in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nWhich brings us to the meat of this report:\u00a0
\nHOW to make money.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What products or services should you sell? How can you turn free content into
\nprofit?\u00a0 How can you use your blog as a lead
\ngeneration tool that will make money steadily?<\/p>\n

One of the most
\nimportant aspects to building a profitable blog is deciding what form of
\nmonetization will work best for your market.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

There are many different options available to you so figuring out which one to
\nstart with (and ultimately, gauging what format your visitors are more likely
\nto respond to) is quite often the trickiest part in the process.<\/p>\n


So, let\u2019s break it down for you so that you can create a surefire system that
\nwill have you earning money in no time at all, while avoiding the
\nunder-performing options that so many people fall victim to.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DEFINE YOUR OBJECTIVE:<\/u><\/b>
You may start a blog simply because you\u2019re interested in writing content for
\nyour niche market. Perhaps you have a lot of information to share and you enjoy
\nhelping others.\u00a0 Great!\u00a0 But, you still need to define your blog\u2019s
\nobjective.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

Is your blog designed
\naround attracting visitors with useful free content that you can then turn into
\na lead?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Are you planning to use your blog to provide a free offer in exchange for an
\nemail address to build targeted mailing lists?<\/p>\n

If so, then your blog is a lead
\ngeneration mechanism<\/u><\/b> and that is your objective.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The point of creating a blog isn\u2019t just to make money by directly selling
\nproducts and services, either with your own offers or via affiliate marketing
\noffers.\u00a0 Your blog should also be a lead
\ngeneration tool, a way to tap into your market, and build authority in your
\nniche.<\/p>\n

So, how should you
\nbegin to monetize your blog?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Affiliate Marketing!<\/b><\/p>\n


\nEven if you have a product or service of your own, if you are new to your niche
\nand aren\u2019t established as a product developer, you should begin by creating
\ncompelling content for your blog and monetizing that content with established
\nproducts and services from business owners that offer affiliate marketing
\noptions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You can then siphon
\ncredibility from these established professionals, and better yet, you can let
\nthem do most of the work!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With affiliate marketing, you aren\u2019t stuck in support desks wading through
\nemails from customers who need help. <\/p>\n

You aren\u2019t working on graphic designers, promotional material and media kits in
\norder to provide tools for promoters to use.<\/p>\n

You aren\u2019t working on updating products, chasing down and repairing issues or
\nbugs in your software.<\/p>\n

As an affiliate, you have one job to do: Sell
\nthe product and make money!<\/b><\/p>\n

Affiliate marketing is
\nhands down, the smartest strategy. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Need more convincing?<\/p>\n

Affiliate marketers can set up profitable blogs faster than anyone else because
\nyou are not spending months investing time and money creating products. You can
\nchoose from hundreds of high-yielding products and feature them on your blog
\nwith a few clicks.<\/p>\n

Affiliate marketers can generate an income that is almost purely passive. You
\naren\u2019t involved in support, development or updates leaving you free to create
\ncontent, build your email lists and evaluate products from developers that will
\nmake you the most money possible.<\/p>\n


And affiliate marketing can also introduce you to hot selling products, giving
\nyou ideas for your OWN product later on down the road once your blog is
\nestablished and you\u2019re generating steady traffic! You\u2019ll know exactly what kind
\nof products sell without having to extensively test your own products,
\nminimizing the risk of failure.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a win-win situation.<\/b><\/p>\n

The only exception to this rule is if you are a service provider. If you make
\nmoney offering consulting, selling real estate or any other type of service,
\nyou will want to start offering those services on your blog from the
\nbeginning.\u00a0 But if you are not a service
\nprovider, affiliate marketing is the ONE monetization strategy you should focus
\non.<\/p>\n

Not:<\/span><\/u> Google Adwords, not paid advertising, and not product
\ndevelopment \u2013 at least not in the initial stages.\u00a0 Affiliate marketing is where it\u2019s at.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sell High, Earn Higher<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re thinking, \u201cWhat kind of affiliate products should I sell?\u201d,<\/i> we\u2019re on the same
\npage.\u00a0 That is the only thing <\/u><\/b>you should be concerned about when choosing how
\nto monetize your blog.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The key to success is not<\/u><\/b> to
\ngo after cheap markets. Don\u2019t make the mistake of thinking that it\u2019s better to
\nsell a $10 product because more people will likely buy it. It\u2019s neither true, nor
\nlogical. In fact, you\u2019ll make things harder on you and you\u2019ll have to work that
\nmuch more to generate a decent income every month.<\/p>\n

Instead, do what the pro bloggers do: start with higher-end affiliate products
\n($77 and up) and work your way down. Not only will you make more money, you
\nwon\u2019t have to sell nearly as many copies in order to do so!<\/p>\n

The only way a lower front-end product works is if you have a solid backend of
\nhigher priced products.\u00a0 In publishing,
\nauthors call this first product (book 1 in their series), a lost leader.\u00a0 You are basically selling at a price point
\nlow enough to qualify buyers (instead of freebie seekers), while enticing them
\ninto buying your backend products that are higher priced. That\u2019s where you make
\nyour money.<\/p>\n

In affiliate marketing, the only way that
\nselling a low priced front-end offer makes sense if you have a series of
\nhigh-priced back end offers up for grabs. When just starting out in blogging
\n(and in affiliate marketing), it\u2019s much easier to go for gold and promote
\nhigher priced offers on your front end while you cut your teeth on the process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


In addition, as you promote affiliate offers and build up your email lists
\nyou\u2019ll be able to easily launch your own product later on at a higher price
\nbecause you\u2019ve cultivated groups of subscribers that are comfortable paying
\nhigher prices!\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And remember, the one metric above all others is the number in your mailing
\nlist.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry about RSS feed
\nsubscribers \u2013 that is no longer worth considering \u2013 just focus on building your
\nnewsletters because that will be the true predictor of how much money your blog
\nwill make.

I\u2019ll include some of the other advertising

\nnow, join those four networks and scan their inventory for a handful of
\nproducts that are relevant to your niche and what you feel your visitors would

\nThen, create your content.\u00a0 If you are on
\na tight budget and plan to outsource most of the work, spend the majority of
\nyour dollars on content development.\u00a0 This
\nis how you\u2019ll stand out from other blogs in your market, capture the attention
\nof your audience and encourage repeat traffic.\u00a0
\nIf you do nothing else, spend time (or money) creating the highest
\nquality KILLER content possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Research the top 10 blogs in your niche market. Look at what they are writing
\nabout, what kinds of headlines and titles they are using. Which articles
\nreceive the highest number of likes and comments?\u00a0 Write down everything you find, creating a
\nswipe file of information that will help you create the kind of content those
\nin your market are most interested in.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nTake your time with this! If you aren\u2019t sure what kind of content your visitors
\nwant most, you really need to spend some time researching before you begin. It
\ndoesn\u2019t take long. Spend an hour or two scanning popular blogs and you\u2019ll
\nquickly have a list of possible ideas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Remember, all you really need to start
\nblogging is 2-3 high-quality articles.\u00a0
\nOr, flip the script and offer your visitors a combination of content
\ntypes including Infographics, articles, or a video.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And always set up your mailing list opt-in
\nbox before you start driving traffic to your blog.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I want you to start selling today.<\/u><\/b> Don\u2019t make the mistake
\nthat so many rookie bloggers make and believe that you should first build up
\nyour subscriber list to 1,000 before you start selling.\u00a0 Don\u2019t worry about having \u201cenough\u201d content on
\nyour blog.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Begin by posting 2-3 highly informative posts on your blog that will appeal to
\nyour target audience and choose 1-3 affiliate products to promote.\u00a0 Divide that up and feature one product for
\nevery 2-3 articles on your blog, with the other affiliate offers being sent out
\nto your newsletter subscribers.<\/p>\n

The key is not<\/u><\/b> to be
\npushy.\u00a0 Provide valuable content that
\nwill attract visitors and integrate an affiliate offer or two within your blogs
\nstructure.\u00a0 That way you aren\u2019t shoving
\nit in their faces but rather reminding them of a useful tool or service that

It\u2019s hard to stay motivated as a blogger if
\nyou aren\u2019t making money so by kick starting your efforts immediately, rather
