Numerous studies have looked into the link between the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/mind-body-connection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mind-body connection<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, one <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/8638750\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> published in the <em>American Journal of Sports Medicine<\/em> found that people who underwent a fake knee surgery felt less pain. This shows how the mind can affect the amount of pain a person feels and how quickly their bodies can heal.<\/p>\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/14998709\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a>, published in <em>Neuropsychologia<\/em>, found that people who mentally trained their muscles for 12 weeks saw significant strength increases. The results suggest that using mental training can enhance the brain\u2019s signal to muscles, boosting their activation and strength.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, the link between the mind and the body doesn\u2019t mean ignoring medical treatments. Rather, it\u2019s about acknowledging that the mind holds power that we\u2019re only starting to understand.<\/p>\n<p>The body is a temple, after all. But the mind is the architect. And when you begin to grasp the impact of the blueprints it designs, that\u2019s when you truly start to appreciate the miracles of your mind-body symbiosis.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-powerful-steps-to-achieve-the-impossible-according-to-marisa-peer\">3 Powerful Steps to Achieve the Impossible, According to Marisa Peer<\/h2>\n<p>Marisa\u2019s methods aren\u2019t exclusive to <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/become-a-hypnotherapist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hypnotherapists<\/a>. There are steps she shares on The Mindvalley Show that you can take to get past your limiting beliefs and achieve what seems impossible.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-use-the-diccc-method\">1. Use the DICCC method<\/h3>\n<p>DICCC isn\u2019t just a random (or raunchy) acronym Marisa coined. No, it\u2019s a potent mnemonic reminding you to:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct,\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Instruct,\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Command,\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Compel, and\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Code.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, if you\u2019ve got an eyesight problem and want to fix it, you\u2019d use the DICCC method. Your command would be something like, \u201c<em>I direct, instruct, command, compel, and code both my eyes to see perfectly and properly right now<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a way to orchestrate your thoughts, behaviors, and reactions to go beyond your <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/limiting-beliefs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">limiting beliefs<\/a>. It\u2019s, as Marisa explains, you \u201c<em>directing your body to heal itself<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So whatever it is that you feel needs healing in your body, make sure you direct, instruct, command, compel, and code it to your specifications. Be specific in your commands<\/h3>\n<p>Being vague leaves room for assumption. And even the Universe can\u2019t guess what you desire without you being specific in your statement.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you say you want ice cream, what kind do you want? Is it chocolate? Strawberry? Is it in a cone? In a cup? Is it one scoop? A pint?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You see how much further down you can go when you\u2019re being specific? <em>That<\/em> is what you need to do with the commands for your mind. For anything, everything, like getting attention, someone to care about you, or even having <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/self-confidence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-confidence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The mind isn\u2019t logical; it\u2019s a feeling mind<\/em>,\u201d Marisa explains.<em> <\/em>\u201c<em>You have to be very careful what you ask for because you\u2019ll probably get it.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, imagination can be a powerful tool. One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2018\/12\/181210144943.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> from the University of Colorado at Boulder reported that the brain reacts to imagined threats in the same way it does to real ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And so when you visualize achieving a specific goal, your brain interprets it as a real experience. This makes it more likely to manifest in ways that bring your vision to life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marisa Peer\u2019s insight: <\/strong>\u201c<em>You see how so often our thinking is just incomplete. \u2018I want to get pregnant\u2019\u2014that\u2019s only the beginning of the journey. \u2026In this example, it\u2019s not just \u2018I want to be pregnant,\u2019 [it\u2019s] \u2018I want to conceive, carry, and deliver a perfectly healthy, robust baby\u2014all the words\u2014right now<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try this: <\/strong>Grab a pen and paper and jot down what you truly want to heal or improve in your life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t just write, \u201c<em>I want to be healthy<\/em>.\u201d Be specific about it, like, \u201c<em>I want to have a strong immune system, consistent energy levels, and a clear, positive mindset right now<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The clearer your goal, the better your mind can work towards it.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-your-mind-works-in-the-present-tense\">3. Your mind works in the present tense<\/h3>\n<p>There\u2019s power in mindfulness. And this is a crucial insight to keep in mind (no pun intended), especially when you\u2019re crafting affirmations or visualizing your goals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So instead of picturing yourself as successful in the future, see yourself as successful now. Especially if you\u2019re battling <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindvalley.com\/low-self-esteem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">low self-esteem<\/a>, make the shift from \u201c<em>I will be enough<\/em>\u201d to \u201c<em>I am enough<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But the principle isn\u2019t just limited to hypnotherapy. It\u2019s also at the core of mindfulness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Because here\u2019s the thing about focusing on the present: You don\u2019t worry so much about what\u2019s already happened or what\u2019s going to happen. And with this approach, you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foster a deeper connection to your emotions, thoughts, and actions,<\/li>\n<li>Promote mental clarity and reduce stress, and<\/li>\n<li>Bolster your mental health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So let\u2019s say you want your acne-covered skin gone. Your command could be something like, \u201c<em>I direct, instruct, command, compel, and code my skin to be clear, smooth, and supple right now<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marisa Peer\u2019s insight: <\/strong>\u201c<em>The mind, first of all, it only ever works in the present tense.
