Today, I\u2019m thrilled to share something a bit different with you. <\/p>\n

In May of this year, I had the honor of standing on a TEDx stage in Hermosillo, Mexico, sharing thoughts not on minimalism, but on a topic very dear to me: Caring for orphaned and vulnerable children. <\/p>\n

The talk, \u201cA Better Way to Care for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children,\u201d discusses the vital work of The Hope Effect, a nonprofit organization each of you helped bring to life.<\/p>\n

The Hope Effect<\/a> was founded through the Book Advance payments I received through my books about minimalism. But the momentum didn\u2019t stop there. Many of you, through your generosity and belief in our mission, have been focused and intentional supporters. Ever since I first announced the nonprofit back in 2015<\/a>, this community has supported it and allowed it to grow\u2014now around the world.<\/p>\n

The TEDx talk isn\u2019t only about The Hope Effect. It\u2019s about something even bigger.<\/p>\n

It provides an overview of the research (which has been known for decades) about the detrimental effects of institutional care on young children and the importance of love, safety, and relationship in the earliest stages of a child\u2019s brain development.<\/p>\n

I urge you to watch, share, and most importantly, allow the message to inspire action. This community is making a HUGE difference around the world\u2014and I\u2019m so proud to be part of it!<\/p>\n
