No one sees reality.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth repeating: No one accurately sees the world as it is.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A person with hearing loss doesn\u2019t experience the world the same way a synesthete does. A rock climber doesn\u2019t see a steep slope the same way an elderly person does. <\/span><\/p>\n

And an optimist and a pessimist rarely experience opportunities in identical ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

And each is correct.<\/span><\/p>\n

Correct in that their experience of the world is their experience of the world. It\u2019s not possible for anyone to actually see the world as it is.<\/span><\/p>\n

But there\u2019s a significant opportunity we can work toward:<\/span><\/p>\n

To experience the world in a useful way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not correctly, but usefully.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the methods you\u2019ve used to judge other people, to choose projects or to make decisions have been helping you get exactly what you seek, congratulations.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the rest of us, there\u2019s a chance to work on our filters, our habits and our instincts.<\/span><\/p>\n

To engage with the world and our choices in a way that\u2019s useful.<\/span><\/p>\n
