One is people who can\u2019t stop being victims, and the other gap is\u2014I call it \u2018self-awareness gap,\u2019 where they think they are the best in the world.\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><cite>\u2014 Claire Hughes Johnson<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Claire Hughes Johnson<\/strong> (<a rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chughesjohnson\">@chughesjohnson<\/a>) currently serves as a corporate officer and advisor for <a rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stripe.com\/\">Stripe<\/a>, a global technology company that builds economic infrastructure for the Internet. Claire previously served as Stripe\u2019s chief operating officer from 2014 to 2021, helping grow the company from fewer than 200 employees to more than 6,000. At various times, she led business operations, sales, marketing, customer support, risk, real estate, and all of the people functions, including recruiting and HR.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Stripe, Claire spent 10 years at Google leading a number of business teams, including overseeing aspects of Gmail, Google Apps, and ultimately consumer operations, as well as serving as a vice president for AdWords Online Sales and Operations, Google Offers, and Google\u2019s self-driving car project.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Claire holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Brown University and an MBA from Yale University.
