Everybody\u2019s definition of success is different. Some folks crave wealth<\/em>, power<\/em>, and status<\/em> while others yearn for deep-seated relationships<\/em>. Some people collect things<\/em> while others collect memories<\/em>. Some folks strive to be the best<\/em> while others must know that they tried their best<\/em>. How do you define the true meaning of success?<\/p>\n

Do you define success as having<\/em> more or being<\/em> more?<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s hard to define the meaning of success, it\u2019s easy to say what it\u2019s not. Some people are toxic. They\u2019re egotistical, greedy<\/a>, and mean-spirited \u2014 they\u2019ll do anything to get what they want. No success there. Other folks are destructive. They\u2019re sneaky, dishonest, and lazy \u2014 they rarely pull their weight and expect others to bear the burden. (Ugh.)<\/p>\n

One reason success is hard to define is because we let others define it for us rather than determine it for ourselves. For example, family, friends, and colleagues may define success one way, while society at large defines it another.<\/p>\n
