I\u2019ve heard you state that one has the power to change one\u2019s own karma by, \u201cgoing beyond it\u201d through meditation, though I\u2019ve never heard you elaborate on what that means and how it happens.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How does simply experiencing the non-local self accomplish this?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Does karma actually change, or does the negative stuff just dissolve so that all that\u2019s left is whatever goodness your past has accrued?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the actual mechanics of what happens?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

My Response:<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is a brilliant question.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The idea of transcending karma through meditation is that by experiencing your non-local self, you identify with your true self and thereby become detached from actions you were previously identified with.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So you don\u2019t change the karma itself, but you change your relationship or connection to it by realizing your true self.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your karma is associated with you by your identification with the ego mind that authored the action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When through meditation you come to know your real self, then you transcend all the karma associated with your false self.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s kind of like quitting a club or organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you make the switch you no longer are subject to the obligations and restrictions you were when you were a member of the group.<\/span><\/p>\n
