If you feel confused or lost in meditation, treat it just like any other thought that comes up in meditation. Take it as a signal that you are ready to come back to thinking the mantra. There is no need to analyze the content of the feeling or figure out where the confusion is coming from. All any thought indicates is that a normalization process in the mind/body system is complete and now you are ready to dive back into the silence of the self.
