Question:
Hi Deepak, I believe I’m coming to the end of what they call the dark night of the soul/purification/cleansing, whatever you may call it. By the end, I understand there is no definitive time and that the “ending” could be next week or next year, it’s just that things are starting to settle down and the more ingrained conditioning seems to be dropping away. These thoughts keep coming in, telling me how well I’m doing, how well I’ve done, to keep going and to not lose hope. It talks of my greatness, my beauty and my magnificence. Is this the voice of my spirit? Is it a voice I should begin to follow now? It seems to overwhelm all other thoughts, which are predominantly negative and speaks way above. However, it really feels like I’m talking to myself and I’m skeptical as we all know how quickly we can become deluded on this path. Just to hear your thoughts on this would be great. Thank you for your divine wisdom you have provided me and everyone else within the past. I could not have seen this journey through without you.

It’s always a relief when a long period of transformation begins to settle down. However, the persistent thoughts you describe do not sound like the voice of your higher self. The voice of your spirit is simply the open, loving, aware presence of your being. It doesn’t promise greatness or magnificence ahead. That unlimited consciousness is magnificent and great right now, even expressed in whatever mundane thought or action you may be having in the present moment. That is the real message of your spirit.
