How Can You Get Everything You Want out of Life?

How can an ordinary person truly get everything they want out of life?

Often, the biggest challenge is recognizing that what you think you want may not actually be what you truly desire.

This disconnect can prevent you from reaching the life of your dreams.

It may seem like a bold statement, but we’re here to help you overcome that struggle and gain clarity about what your ideal life really looks like.

Once you have that clear vision, and combine it with the right approach to promoting yourself, the possibilities are endless!

However, don’t be misled…

There are countless people out there claiming that you can make huge amounts of money and live the life of your dreams if you act fast and take advantage of a “limited-time” opportunity in the next 30 minutes.

We’ve all seen those high-pressure sales pitches. While many of these offers are outright scams, some do provide legitimate products or programs.

These “proven money-making strategies” may bring varying levels of success to sellers. You might experience a temporary financial lift and a glimpse of freedom.

But ultimately, you’re selling their products in their way, making money for them, and helping them live their dream life.

But what about your dream life? What happened to doing something you love?

This type of messaging can easily lure you in when you’re feeling frustrated or longing for something more.

But what exactly does that “something more” look like for you?

Maybe it includes:

  • Living in a beautiful mansion or a peaceful cabin tucked away in the woods
  • Building an incredibly successful career or maintaining the freedom to stay at home
  • Staying happily married or remaining single by choice
  • Traveling the globe or embarking on that long-awaited cross-country road trip
  • Having a large family, a small one, or deciding not to have children at all

…or perhaps something entirely different!

Right now, your vision of a dream life might feel unclear or even unattainable.

Perhaps you’re finding it hard to picture your ideal lifestyle because shiny distractions are pulling you away from your true goals.

It’s time to sharpen that vision.

We’ll guide you through the process of identifying what you truly love and show you how to make it the foundation of the life you want to live.

To start, ask yourself this question: What do you envision when you think of your perfect life?

If you take a closer look at everything you’ve come up with, one common thread is likely the desire for the freedom to do what you want, when you want.

We refer to this as time-freedom.

By placing time-freedom at the top of your priority list, you can truly achieve everything you want in life—even if it initially seems unrealistic.

Does that sound too good to be true? It’s not. But before diving into the deeper aspects, let’s first cover some important basics.

What Does Time-Freedom Really Mean?

It’s not just about having the ability to do what you want, whenever you want.

To experience genuine time-freedom, you need to dig deeper and understand its true essence.

Time-freedom means recognizing the value of your time and making sure you focus it on what matters most to you.

This understanding can be the difference between imagining a realistic versus an unrealistic dream life.

For example, while traveling the world might seem impractical for large families, it’s not entirely out of reach.

You could make adjustments—create a budget, make sacrifices, maybe even homeschool your kids.

But for most people, that lifestyle requires significant changes that aren’t always feasible. Let’s be clear: we’re not discouraging you from anything.

However, to make such dreams a reality, you’ll need to take an honest look at your circumstances—your family, your commitments, and other important factors.

For instance, owning a mansion might not align with a desire to freelance for just three hours a week. It’s all about balance and deciding what’s truly important to you.

Do you crave the flexibility of a relaxed work schedule, or are you willing to hustle and put in the hard work to earn that cozy cabin in the woods?

Revisiting Your Dream Life

Now, look back at your vision of your dream life. Are there any conflicts within it? What sacrifices would be necessary to bring everything you want into reality?

As you think about these things, consider these questions:

  1. What isn’t as important as I first thought?
  2. What can I remove—either temporarily or permanently—from my list?

Achieving the life you want requires prioritization. And your priorities will shift as your life evolves.

Life events such as having children, moving to a new place, or changing careers will naturally alter your goals and desires, and that’s completely normal.

You’ll adapt your vision accordingly over time.

This is what our My Lifestyle Self-Made guide is all about: helping you refine your vision of the life you want and giving you the tools to make it happen.

It’s about mastering the art of self-promotion while also helping others, which is a fundamental aspect of entrepreneurship.

Here’s the beauty of life: the more we learn to serve our own needs and desires, the better we can serve others.

And this is a key element of building a successful entrepreneurial journey.

This is exactly what we’ve dedicated our lives to.

It’s given us the time-freedom we always dreamed of, allowing us to live within our own limits, avoid sacrifices we weren’t willing to make, and design our days just the way we like them.

We’re not claiming to be heroes or perfect in any way. We’re simply doing things our way, and we want to help you do the same.

Now that we’ve covered some foundational ideas, let’s dive into an exercise that will guide you through examining the various aspects of your life.

This will help you clarify your priorities and shape both your life and business around them.

Self-Reflection in All Areas of Your Life

As we’ve discussed, it’s crucial to take a comprehensive look at your entire life so you can align your priorities and start living a life that truly reflects what you want, rather than longing for something that doesn’t actually suit you.

In the next few pages, you’ll be asked to reflect on different areas of your life.

If any of these don’t apply to you, feel free to skip them—just don’t shy away from the tougher subjects:

  • Your Whole Life
  • Spiritual Life
  • Romantic Partnership
  • Relationship with Your Children
  • Career and Business
  • Relationship with Family
  • Relationship with Friends
  • You and Your Community
  • Physical Health
  • Mental Health
  • Relationship with Health

Create these pages out and put them in a binder, or use them as prompts to write your thoughts in a notebook, on your phone, or on your computer.

Whatever format you choose, make sure to save them somewhere you can revisit later.

As mentioned earlier, reviewing these reflections will help you recognize the progress you’ve made and, in some cases, give you the push you need to get back on track with the plans you originally set for yourself.

Setting Your Priorities

We hope you’ve found the previous exercises helpful in reflecting on various aspects of your life and in uncovering what truly matters to you.

You may have also realized areas you’ve been neglecting, but working through this next section will help you bring more balance to your priorities.

The reason is that consciously setting your priorities is the first crucial step toward making meaningful life changes.

Even for those of us who prefer to go with the flow (and we definitely do), this step cannot be skipped.

Being clear about what’s most important helps keep distractions at bay.

Your priorities become the foundation upon which you base your life decisions.

Deciding when to say “yes” or “no” becomes much simpler when your choices align with your real priorities.

Keep your list short and focused, so you’re not overwhelmed with too many things. After all, if everything is a priority, then nothing is truly a priority.

Make the tough decisions and stick with them!

Here’s an example of what a priority list might look like:

  1. My physical and mental health
  2. The wellbeing of my children (including my furry ones)
  3. My relationship with my partner
  4. Helping others visualize and reach their dream lives

These priorities are straightforward, reflecting the person’s core values and their vision for the future.

Steps to Figuring Out Your Priority List:

Identify your core values:

What matters most to you? Is it family, health, financial stability, or something else?

Your values will clarify which areas of your life hold the most significance and will lay the groundwork for making decisions that align with your dream life.

Consider your long-term and short-term goals:

Reflect on what you hope to accomplish in the next 1-2 years, as well as in the next 5-10 years.

This will help shape your priorities and provide direction for where you want to go.

Brainstorm your potential priorities:

Jot down any priorities that align with your values and goals. Once you have a list, reorganize them by importance.

This exercise will help you identify where your immediate focus should be. Consider placing yourself as Priority #1.

After organizing, narrow your focus to the top 3-5 priorities—the rest can wait.

Evaluate your time, resources, and potential conflicts:

Take a look at how you currently spend your time and what resources you have available (such as money, energy, and skills).

Are you investing these resources in ways that support your top priorities? Are there distractions or unnecessary commitments you need to let go of?

Adjust your priority list as needed based on this assessment.

Remember: setting priorities is a dynamic process. Your values, goals, and circumstances will shift over time, so be prepared to revisit and revise your list.

With a clearer sense of your top priorities, you can now begin taking practical steps to align your actions with them.

This could mean adjusting your schedule, dedicating specific time blocks to your priorities, or rethinking how you allocate your resources.

By making decisions within this new framework, you’ll ensure that you’re living in alignment with your authentic self.
